Recently, I've moved to a new place where you pay the rent and have everything included. A Swedish turn-key solution for people that moves to Gothenburg to work and have everything ready waiting for them.
But with one major caveat, specially when you're from IT and worries about security, the internet provided for the apartments is a big shared WiFi, which safe is the last thing that it is...
So with just a few resources at hand, I've decided to do something about it, I needed separate my network from this big WiFi as a first step, then as a second step control the flow of this network and finally do some hardening on needed aspects.
With this I've decided to do this blog to document this process, share the knowledge that I've acquired or already had and have used on this little project.
There are things which I plan to share here after this process, like having a CI/CD running on my apartment in my own infrastructure. I know that some people will scream to me to do on Azure or AWS, professionally I already did that quite a few times, but my curiosity lies on doing this with very few hardware and without spending a lot..
Resource deprivation makes you learn a lot, find alternatives and build the things yourself, which can be a very nice process of learning and discovery.
